Adam came to writing music while teaching choral music and theater. Since 2013 Adam has had several premieres and commissions in multiple genres. Adam is available for commission in composing, arranging, and orchestration.

Adam has worked as a composer since 2014 with several premieres and performances throughout Wisconsin.
In 2022 Adam was commissioned by Milwaukee Opera Theatre to write their contribution to the 2022 Decameron Opera Project. Adam composed the music and lyrics to The Meaning of Christmas which was animated by Eric Miranda. The video and music can be found here.
In 2021 Adam teamed with Heidi Joosten to write an original musical called Micro as part of Music Theatre of Madison's Wisconsin New Musicals Cycle. It received a reading in December of 2021, and will receive a workshop and full production as part of the cycle.
Also in 2021 Adam wrote music and lyrics for an album of songs to accompany a musical children's book for Music Theatre of Madison. The book is slated to be released with the music in 2022. A sample of the music can be found here.
Adam's music can most frequently be heard on the podcasts WAIP, The All-Arcadians, SHH, and Vigil, where they serve as head composer. Adam has written recognizable pieces, such as the All-Arcadians Theme, SHH Theme, Dog Investigator Theme, The Worsener Theme, and many more.
In 2020 Adam began working with a team writing songs and lyrics for Watch Me an original musical set in a dystopian future.
Adam's first commission, Incidental Music for Romeo + Juliet, premiered in February of 2015. The piece uses various instruments and voices to create a soundscape for the adapted production by Joshua David Atkins.
Adam's first choral commission, with text by Joshua David Atkins was premiere by the Grafton High School Camerata in the Spring of 2016. The piece is for advanced women's choir (SSA divisi) and is perfect for wintry concerts or year round.
Adam completed a commission for solo cello with piano accompaniment in the Spring of 2017 and the commission has since been expanded into a suite called Lost in Tought. The first movement, Wanderings in a Garden, is currently awaiting its world premiere. Adam completed the second movement, A View of the Stars Through the Fireflies, and the third movement, Looking Out the Window at the Rain, and they too await premiere.

Adam has worked frequently as an arranger in the choral and musical theatre genres. With more than 100 arrangements, Adam has developed a style as a detailed and creative arranger.

Adam has been working in orchestration for several years, with a knack for making a piece sound familiar and brand new simply by changing the ensemble. Adam is comfortable working with any type of ensemble and embraces a challenge.
